My work focuses on the use of mobile technology to improve health services for low-income and vulnerable populations.
I am a social psychologist by training. After completing my doctorate at the University of California, Los Angeles, I began working in the area of global health. During the 7+ years that I worked on HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment programs in sub-Saharan Africa, I became very interested in the role of mobile technology in health records and in delivering care to those who most need it.
I am currently a Senior Research Scientist in Informatics at the University of California, Irvine and an Assistant Professor in Psychiatry and Human Behavior at Charles Drew University of Medicine and Science.
